Biography

 

Anouk Veldhuis  Anouk Veldhuis studied Animal Sciences at Wageningen University, with a specialization in Quantitative Veterinary Epidemiology. She graduated in 2009, after completing her MSc thesis at GD Animal Health and the University of Copenhagen, investigating the effect of preventive management measures for paratuberculosis in Danish dairy herds. In 2009 she started working as a junior epidemiologist at the Veterinary and Agrochemical Research centre (CODA-CERVA) in Belgium. Since 2011, Anouk is employed in the Epidemiology group of GD Animal Health, working on a variety of national and international research projects, providing scientific input as a veterinary epidemiologist and conducting epidemiological data analyses. In 2016, she obtained her PhD degree at the University of Utrecht with a thesis entitled: “Surveillance of emerging disease in cattle: Application to the Schmallenberg virus epidemic in the Netherlands.”
