Activity

The project aims to assist Bulgaria in achieving full compliance with the hygiene requirements for the production, storage, transport, sampling and testing of raw milk.

The project has three major goals:
  • An action plan for improvement of the quality of raw cow milk in Bulgaria by 2010
  • Strengthened capacity of experts from the MAFS, Veterinary service and Dairy Board through training on milk quality control, EU legislation and EU raw milk reference methods to secure raw milk quality in accordance with EU criteria. 
  • Strengthened capacity of experts from the NVS, NAAS and NMB through training on milk quality control, requirements for premises, equipment and hygiene to secure raw milk quality in accordance with EU criteria and creating the awareness and understanding of milk quality issues for milk producers through provision of information materials and workshops.
