Royal GD and software developer Beyonder have collaborated to create FlockVision, an advanced monitoring system that gives poultry farmers 24/7 insight into their animals' behaviour. This collaboration showcases the potential of combining advanced technology with in-depth domain knowledge to elevate animal welfare.

The system uses smart cameras and artificial intelligence (AI) to continuously monitor six key behaviours: drinking, eating, foraging behaviour, comfort behaviour, walking and resting. The result is healthier animals and more peace of mind for the farmer.

Innovative co-creation

GD contributed its veterinary expertise and knowledge of animal health, while Beyonder provided the digital craftsmanship needed to translate this into a user-friendly solution. Combining this with feedback from poultry farmers ensured efficient development.
