The dairy farmer's industry is changing rapidly and that also applies to the veterinary profession. It is therefore of the utmost importance for cattle vets to keep abreast of new developments in their profession. Science never sleeps and both the academic world and business come to the field with new developments. Moreover, people in the field have their experiences. That is why the European Bovine Congress 2019 (EBC 2019) pays attention to cattle medicine in twenty different "technical sessions": making and keeping cattle healthy.
Apart from technical developments, the environment in which the veterinarian operates changes. The number of dairy farms is declining, individual farms are becoming larger, farmers and society are becoming more demanding, new technologies are taking over the world and the structure of veterinary practices is changing, just like the veterinarian herself. These developments will undoubtedly change the role and type of work of the cattle veterinarian in the near future. During EBC 2019 a lot of attention will therefore be paid to the field of work of the cattle veterinarian in the 'strategic sessions', and prominent international keynote speakers will present their vision, which will then be discussed with the public.
EBC 2019 takes place from 11-13 September in 1931 Congress Center in ’sHertogenbosch (Netherlands). The day before the congress an excursion program is organised, with a visit to the Floating Farm in Rotterdam, followed by a selection programme to the organic farm Dobbelhoeve in Udenhout, where the Lely Orbiter is located or a boat trip through historic 's-Hertogenbosch.
EBC 2019 offers an opportunity to meet international veterinary professionals and colleagues. You can register until 5 September 2019 via the website of EBC. After this date, only onsite registration is possible.
Do not miss it! More information about EBC 2019 can be found on www.ebc2019.nl.
